[ She startles awake with a gasp. It takes her a beat to get her bearings. Her bleary eyes find Tyler looking all too smug, so she does the only thing that makes sense.

She reaches over and flicks his ear in retaliation. She glares at him. ]

You're the worst sometimes!

You weren't supposed to fall asleep.

[ He makes a face and rubs his ear before handing her a coffee and then turning he radio down. ]

Drink.

I wasn't sleeping!

[ Not fully anyway. ]

I was resting my eyes. [ She takes the coffee though and sips at it. She's surprised to find it with the exact right amount of sugar. She shooter a look at him then nods at the box of donuts. ]

Happy now?

[cowboyscientist]

Of course you were.

[ He opens the box of very big, very sweet donuts. ]

Very much so, yes. Have one.

[tornadotamer]

[ She stubbornly sips her coffee instead of taking a donut. When he hand reaches out, it's not for a donut but to turn down the radio. ]

What's your favorite?

[cowboyscientist]

Good question.

[ He looks over the array of donuts before tapping one. ]

This one's got Oreo pieces, vanilla and powdered sugar. Can't go wrong with it.

[ Not her cup of tea, but since it's his favorite and she's feeling bratty, she snatches it up and takes a bite. ]

There's a lot going on.

[ There's powdered sugar on her chin. It's a messy donut. ]

[cowboyscientist]

But it's good, right?

[ Reaching over, Tyler dabs at her chin and laughs. ]

Sweet and chewy.

[tornadotamer]

It's okay.

[ She gives him a smile while she's busy chewing. It's sweet, incredibly so. She sips her coffee to chase down all that sugar then hands him the rest. ]

I think I'll stick with the classic.

[cowboyscientist]

Aww.

[ He laughs though and takes the donut before popping it into his mouth. He gestures at another one. ]

Simple glazed.

[tornadotamer]

[ She does take the glazed. It's still hot. Eagerly, she takes a bite and moans at how good and fluffy it is. It's just the right amount of sweet, pairing well with her coffee. ]

Okay, this is pretty good.

[cowboyscientist]

See?

[ Oh yes, he's going to rub it in and make sure she doesn't forget that he was right. Even if he doubts that she'll admit it. ]

Told you it'd be worth it.

[tornadotamer]

[ Her nose wrinkles at his smugness. She shoots him a glare that's much more awake now. She eats another bite and chews thoughtfully. ]

I didn't say it was worth getting out of bed for.

[cowboyscientist]

But it was.

[ And he knows it was. ]

Besides, you can go back to bed if you're that tired, still. I won't force you to stay up.

I'm awake.

[ She sighs it out. She has been since they started texting. She sips at her coffee and wishes they didn't have the center console in the way. It'd be nice to scoot over and curl against him while they eat their donuts. ]

Are you always this awake and chirpy in the mornings?

[cowboyscientist]

Chirpy?

[ Is he being chirpy? The thought makes him laugh a little and he shrugs. ]

Not always. Guess I was just properly motivated this morning and had a reason for being bright eyed and bushy tailed.

[tornadotamer]

Motivated for donuts?

[ She finishes the glaze and licks her sticky fingers. She's not mad about it. The donuts have hit the spot. She feels more alive now with that and the coffee in her system. ]

What's next then?

[cowboyscientist]

Do you want me to take you back home?

[ He smiles over at her as he takes another bite of another donut. ]

Go back to bed?

[tornadotamer]

Only if you come into bed with me.

[ She teasingly waggles her brows at him. He looks pretty awake though. She's not sure that he'll be into some lounging. ]

[cowboyscientist]

Well, I was definitely hoping that you'd say that.

[ Even if he doesn't go back to sleep, he thinks he can be still and quiet. He can be a good pillow for her. ]

If you're inviting me, I'm accepting.

Mmm, maybe we can lounge on the couch and watch a movie?

[ That seems like a fair compromise. Once she's fully settled and energized, the rest of the day will be their oyster. ]

[cowboyscientist]

Okay, I can deal with that.

[ He gets the truck moving, heading back towards her place so they can do just that. ]

I'm gonna eat all these donuts so I even might end up falling asleep.

[tornadotamer]

You're seriously going to eat all these?

[ She eyes the box dubiously. Two donuts for her max would be enough. ]

Where do you put it all?

[cowboyscientist]

I am going to eat all these.

[ Maybe not all at once but he's definitely going to eat them all. He bought them, he's eating them. ]

And I've got a high metabolism. Plus, I do a lot of running.

I'm sure we can find other ways to help you work them off.

[ She smirks at him from behind her coffee cup. She lets the blanket slide off her shoulders, revealing the tank top she'd fallen asleep in. ]
